The New York Times calls him the Rock Star of Science Class and you’ve probably heard of him as Carmelo the Science Fellow. Carmelo Piazza has a loyal and devoted fan base of parents and kids who pour into his after school programs and summer camps and book months ahead to celebrate their birthdays at his storefront science classroom on Smith Street and Atlantic Avenue in Boerum Hill called The Cosmic Cove. Carmelo teaches at PS 261 and is the father of four (yes, four!!). His latest endeavor has been to start a new preschool for ages 2-4 years old called the Brooklyn Pre-school of Science.
The program has been wildly successful in their first location on 11 Wyckoff Street in Boerum Hill and they will be opening a second school in Park Slope on 65 Park Place in Fall 2015. Enrollment is now open! Call now to schedule your own one-on-one tour with Carmelo.
Find out more about the new Park Slope location including how to tour, and how to enroll here. And don’t wait because this program, like everything he does, will fill up FAST!
